What phone company is best for my a smartphone: Verizon, At&t, etc?

I am thinking about getting a smartphone, but I want the cheapest plan possible... I need the lowest minutes possible, about more than 1000 texts and obviously i will need a data plan for the smartphone; however i dont even know how much data i will need. i will mostly be looking up stuff and socializing... maybe skype?What phone company is best for my a smartphone: Verizon, At%26amp;t, etc?
