Can employers track what sites you go to on a smartphone?

If I go to non work related websites (the phone is work owned), can my employer see what sites I go to without having the physical phone in front of them? I know they can see who I call from call records and there is software out there that will let employers see what pictures you've taken on blackberrys. What about other smartphones like iphones, windows mobile phones, and android os phones?Can employers track what sites you go to on a smartphone?
