im a 14year old and I am planning on buying a new blackberry 8330 smart-phone, but my family does not pay nor wants to pay for internet, e-mail, GPS, music (ect...) how is it without internet? how are the texting and average phone abilities? I would be much obligedWhat is your opinion on the blackberry 8330 smartphone when it does not have internet?
Depending on your needs, it's still a strong device.
If you keep schedules, ebooks, a large amount of contacts, it's great as a PDA.
It's a capable mp4 video viewer as well. There are cheap/free divx-mp4[simple profile] converters to get 3-4 full-length movies onto a 1GB mSD card.
If you're a prolific texter, it's handy as well.
Keep in mind, if it is the 8330 version of the Curve[ie. Telus/Sprint/Bell/Verizon], there will not even be wifi, so eventually convince them over time if you want any browser use.
Depending on how internet is blocked on the phone/account, you'll likely still be able to 'PIN' message other Blackberry users without metered data-usage.
Finally, CDMA Blackberry devices typically have compatively good reception.
