Ummm, Verizon - being an internet provider - has a website where they describe the phones available through their carrier. People who own those phones are allowed to post reviews, and they can be pretty critical.
Nobnody can tell you now what phones will be good until those phones come out. Last year I upgraded and nearly got the env touch - i was a great phone on paper and since I already had and loved the Voyager, the env touch seemed an obvious choice. In the end, I ditched it for the samsung reality because the env was over $100 extra. Turns out that was a lucky break because so many env touch owners hate their phone - and many of the complaints are consistent enough to suggest genuine overall reliability and design problems for that phone. in short, never be the 1st person to get a gadget.What is the best qwerty smartphone for Verizon, now and upcoming phones?
the merge is not coming to verizon. dont listen to the other guy, the thunderbold is not the merge...two totally different phones and there is no merge s. there is no other phone with keyboard on the verizon road map...except the droid 3, which looks pretty good

its the htc merge S.... the merge was the thuunderbolt..... Anyways, I think that and the droid 3 are it. Get the htc Merge S. It's the evo shift of the thunderbolt (smaller and with a slide out keyboard)
Do NOT get the ally. That phone is REALLY slow! If you want a phone thats already out and has the qwerty keyboard, get the droid 2.
My apologies, mario is correct, the thunderbolt is the mecha... Got confused. And there is talk of the mecha S which would be what I said above...
