What Android-running smartphone should a programmer buy?

Hello all.

I am a programmer who wants to develop apps for Smart-phones, but unfortunately, I have a limited budget, one of about 500-600 US Dollars.

For this reason, an Apple Smartphone is completely out of the question, so can any of you suggest a device which is near that price range, yet is still decent?

By "Decent", I mean with multi-touch, and a decent amount of power. Camera is optional, but would be enjoyed.

You know google sells a developers phone correct? I'm pretty sure it's still the Nexus 1, the Nexus S doesn't have HSPA+ support or a SD card slot. That and Samsung just sucks. I'd get something that at least has a SD card. The G2 is awesome.

An Apple smartphone is cheaper than you think... $199 is the carrier-subsidized rate.

If not Apple, than the Android Google Nexus S and the webOS Palm Pre Plus are affordable smartphones ideal for developers. What Android-running smartphone should a programmer buy?
